Episode guides and behind-the-scenes revelations from the second season of demon hunting…
It was in its second series that Supernatural went from fun but disposable monster-of-the-week runaround to genuinely unmissable television, and this companion acts as a comprehensive guide to the thought processes at work during the season.
Throughout the book, creator Eric Kripke comes across as justifiably proud of his creation. But he’s also refreshingly candid about where he believes the show made mistakes – including why Jo, Ellen and Ash were phased out as the season progressed.
Fans will find plenty of other interesting nuggets of information here including special effects secrets, character profiles, interviews and a fun feature on the ‘rules’ of writing a Supernatural episode. There are also detailed summaries of every episode from season two with input from those involved in creating them. James Skipp
VERDICT: 7/10
An essential tome for dedicated worshippers of the Winchesters.
