TV episode review
US airdate 26 November 2007 (NBC)

Claire has to come to terms with her father’s death, while Micah is reunited with his mother. Peter and Adam are hunting down the last woman in the photograph, but Matt isn’t far behind them. Hiro, however, is suspicious of Adam’s motives and goes back in time to learn what Adam is really up to. And Sylar’s manipulation of Maya turns really nasty…

This is another strong episode; not a classic perhaps, but given the series’ recent record, it’s far more than acceptable. Things get pretty exciting as the chase begins to build and the various plot threads converge.

What’s more, there’s not just one evil villain’s plan coming to fruition but two – in this episode you get double your money’s worth, and everything points towards the fact that the old Sylar is definitely about to re-emerge. This is a delicious development, because for all his sneaky charm Adam Monroe doesn’t have a hope of ever reaching Sylar’s magnetic malevolence.

Next to these great characters, it’s unsurprising but still a shame that Maya, Peter and Mohinder are all becoming a bit lame – as is the Micah/Monica storyline. But still, when the Hiro and Adam storylines start coming together in the Primatech facility, there is another great episode climax.

A joy to watch, and a bittersweet realisation that it’s almost over for the season. Brigid Cherry

VERDICT: 8/10
