Following an acclaimed run in London’s Brick Lane, the quirky 'arthouse funfair ride' Carnesky’s Ghost Train is coming to Blackpool Illuminations this October.
Carnesky’s Ghost Train, founded by Olivier Award-winning Marisa Carnesky, is a twist on the ghostly fairground formula. Audience are sent hurtling through darkened chambers while experiencing a series of live performances and illusions.
The Blackpool version of the event includes vintage backdrops, new illusions devised by Paul Kieve (who was behind the effects in the first two Harry Potter films and the recent West End production of Lord of the Rings) and a new cast trained in circus performance and dance.
There will also be large mechanical sets featuring haunted trains, derelict stations, squashed dining cars and magical sleeping carriages.
The event opens late October 2008 in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
