Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon is returning to guide the new adventures of John Crichton and friends in a series of Farscape comics for Boom! Studios.

Speaking exclusively to Total Sci Fi, O'Bannon said, "Although I've been a fan of comic books all my life, I've never explored it as a storytelling medium before. So the new Farscape comic books are a terrific twofer for me: both an introduction to telling stories in this new (new to me anyway) medium, and, more importantly, getting the opportunity to continue the Farscape saga."

The series will pick up immediately after the TV miniseries The Peacekeeper Wars, with O'Bannon promising "It's like we're finally getting to experience Season Five of Farscape."

The first four-issue arc will see the crew visit Rygel's home planet Hyneria, something practicalities prevented in the TV series.
