Adrian Hodges' reimagining of Terry Nation's classic series Survivors will star Max Beesley (pictured), Julie Graham and Paterson Joseph in the lead roles.

Based on Terry Nation's novel, taken from concepts created for his original series, the new Survivors has started filming in Manchester for an autumn broadcast. Julie Graham's Abby Grant is married to David, played by Doctor Who guest star Shaun Dingwall. Who and Torchwood star Freema Agyeman will play Jenny Collins, a primary school teacher.

Kate Harwood, BBC Head of Drama Series & Serials, noted that "Survivors is an exciting new drama series which asks the most fundamental of questions. How would the human spirit endure when faced with the most exciting and terrifying adventures? We have managed to assemble a magnificent cast in a series set to take audiences on an emotional rollercoaster ride."
